Top Down Perspective 27/02/14

This week Jon plugs in an Xbox One and continues to work through Bravely Default (along with Sean). We also discuss Beat Blasters 3 and Nathan plays through the latest Last of Us DLC.News is real interesting with the announcement of a Sega vs. Nintendo movie/book in the works, the Xbox One is finally getting Twitch integration in a few weeks and Waluigi is only going to be an assist trophy.

Top Down Perspective 20/02/14

Sean returns with tales of the time travel lab he failed to escape from. He also checked out the Titanfall Beta this week and continues to work through Bravely Default with Jon too. Nathan is getting a little down on VLR and is still way into Threes (who isn't?).The big event for everyone is Twitch Plays Pokemon, let's be honest - it's really great. However we have to talk about more so we discuss the end of Irrational Games, Humble Bundle 11 and Nintendo Girls Club.

Top Down Perspective 06/02/14

It's a new week and games are really starting to roll now. Sean has started up Bravely Default (to Jon's jealousy), finished The Room 2 and played through episode 2 of The Wolf Among Us (as well as Nathan). Nathan also finishes 999 and jumps right into VLR and is real deep into OlliOlli and Lumines. Jon revisits Earthbound Zero and continues with Pokemon Y.Nintendo comments on their recent announcement, Flappy Bird is a weird thing, music is coming to Steam and Watch Dogs loses its trademark momentarily.

Top Down Perspective 30/01/14

Sean starts us off with a depressing story from SF. He's also been playing a lot of Risk of Rain with Nathan and starting up Broken Age and The Room Two. Nathan finished Broken Age and is continuing through 999 and Darksiders while Jon is slowly playing more Pokemon Y and revisiting a bunch of old stuff.We got a bunch of news from all corners of the console market. Nintendo announces some of it's new ideas. Microsoft buys Gears of War from Epic. Sony announces a Sly Cooper movie.

Top Down Perspective 23/01/14

We're joined by a special guest this week: Vernon Shaw - the creator of Hot Pepper Gaming. He tells us about his time with Borderlands 2 and grinding on hamburger patties. Sean has been addicted to Risk of Rain all week. Nathan is playing a whole bunch of stuff in search of his next obsession and Jon is warming up to Pokemon Y.News sees Nintendo and not doing so well sales-wise and the "Nintendo Force" magazine is already looking to Kickstarter for help. Canadian retailers raise the price of video games while Steam introduces more currencies into its marketplace. Finally, Sony is having a pretty great sale on a range of titles from recent years.

This week Jon takes the plunge into Pokemon Y, he also shows Sean and Nathan how to play Payday 2. Nathan gets real interested with Tomb Raider and 999 while Sean plays To The Moon and Nidhogg.For news we discuss the new update for Sim City, The Wolf Among Us gets a tentative release window and Michael Myers will be in CoD Ghosts.

Top Down Perspective 01/01/14

It's a new year and Jon is on his way to MAGFest while Sean and Nathan hold down the podcast fort. Nathan is way into Cook, Serve, Delicious as well as iOS game Paint it Back. Sean continues to play NFS Rivals, starts working through Papers, Please and plays the new Walking Dead episode.News is pretty barren due to the time of the year. The Nintendo eShop was down this holiday which also caused a delayed release for Pokemon Bank and Deadpool has vanished from all digital download services for some unknown reason.

Top Down Perspective 18/12/13

Vote on this year's games so we can do some fun stuff with it on our GotY episode later this month!Jon is racing to get some 2013 games done and he starts up Saints Row 4 and The Last of Us. Sean plays through Crimson Dragon, Attack of the Friday Monsters and Dropchord and Nathan checks out the Master Quest in A Link Between Worlds as well as the new, crazy Just Cause 2 multiplayer.News is starting to dry up now but we get a surprising interesting Nintendo Direct this week as well as PAX making another really controversial decision. 

Top Down Perspective 13/12/13

We're slowly getting ready for the end of the year as we begin to look back and play the games we missed. Sean plays Mario Party Island Tour, Kentucky Route Zero and Sonic and Sega All-Stars Transformed. Jon plays some of the new Zelda and Payday 2. Nathan finishes A Link Between Worlds and Saints Row 4 and still can't get away from Scurvy Scallywags.The VGXs happened this week so we spend a good deal talking about how awkward that was. A couple release dates get announced and Youtube is changing some of their rules for live streaming.

We finally made it to the big 191 everybody! Sean and Nathan continue with A Link Between Worlds. Sean also tries out Xbox Fitness for the first time. Nathan gets really into State of Decay and Jon starts up the new Adventuretime game that has a name that is too long for me to go look up.News sees the death of some very important people this week. We also discuss the first batch of developers in the ID@Xbox program, the nominees for the VGXs and Nintendo new nightmare peripheral.

We have all the new consoles now but we're all crazy into Super Mario 3D World. Sean does also talk about his new Xbox One and some of its cool and not so cool features. Nathan also dives into Zelda: A Link Between Worlds.There was some weird stuff going on with Twitch, the PS4, and the Playroom app so we discuss that. Jon Carmack leaves id Software for real and Swery65 seems to be interested in a Deadly Premonition sequel.

Top Down Perspective 22/11/13

The PS4 and the Xbox One are now out and while Sean waits for his Xbox to show up he and Jon discuss their new Sony consoles. Resogun and Contrast are the PS4 games discussed most. Sean has also been playing a lot of Black Flag and the Battlefield4 campaign. Jon plays through all of Halo 4, Nathan checks out Brothers and Uncharted: Golden Abyss and then the two of them get deep into Super Mario 3D World. Sony releases some teaser trailers for the next Uncharted game and the upcoming Last of Us DLC. We also get some info about the Vita TV, the new Phoenix Wright 5 DLC and rumors about Telltale Games' next game.
