Top Down Perspective

One of our international travelers has returned! Jon is back to talk about the Xbox One (or is it Xone, Xbone or X1?) and a smattering of other news, as well as Witch and Hero, that new-fangled Luigi's Mansion: Dark Moon and Mario's latest Minis escapade on the 3DS. Nathan finally hit the bottom of the Hotline Miami barrel (if Cactus is reading this, level-editor in the sequel, PLEASE make it happen) and is maybe too excited about Super Mario 3D Land. Is it the Majora's Mask of Mario games? Listen to find out! Oh, and some other things happened, Atari died again, someone said Mirror's Edge 2 somewhere and people freaked out, same ol' same ol'.

It's a Ramblin' Rohr! Sean and Jon are jet-setting around the planet, so its just Nathan alone in a basement talking to himself. But hey, that's its own kind of weird fun, right? RIGHT? Anyway, topics this week range from Metro 2033 to the sudden change in policy towards Let's Players Nintendo just unleashed. That topic is way too big for one man, but I rattle off some thoughts, along with another news update or two and a brief appraisal of the latest Star Trek film. Oh, and moving is weird, huh? Some thoughts on that and more (a bit more, I promise its not too long) on this week's Top Down Perspective.

It's the last episode before Jon and Sean take off traveling for a bit. Nathan and Jon have been playing the browser game Candy Box while Sean finishes up DmC and Fire Emblem Awakening, he also discovers Doritos Crash Course 2.
As for the news: EA secures exclusive rights to any future Star Wars games, Penny Arcade puts out a controversial kickstarter, weird happenings with Ubisoft employees and Burnout Paradise is on sale on Steam and Sean now owns every version of that game.

The Calgary Comic and Entertainment Expo was this last week and Jon and Nathan discuss their time there. Jon's been playing Double Dragon while Nathan revisits Super Mario Land 2 and Sean plays through Poker Night 2 and Far Cry 3: Blood Dragon.
We also discuss the new video game themed Story Bundle, legal trouble for 5th Cell and Call of Duty: Ghost is announced.

Jon and Sean played their way through Injustice: Gods Among Us so they spend a good deal of time talking about that. Nathan has been playing the old Yoshi's Island.
As for news, Nintendo won't be having a major press conference this year at E3, Microsoft announced the date of their next-xbox announcement presentation and Phoenix Wright HD gets delayed again.

This week Nathan finishes up Bioshock Infinite and checks out 2010's Vanquish. Jon plays the new Injustice and gets us talking a whole lot about DC comics. Sean beats Metal Gear Rising and Guacamelee. The main news is that Nintendo had a major Nintendo Direct conference this week and we discuss all the information that came out of that. Team Bondi isn't looking the best, Skyrim is getting no more DLC and The Evil Within gets shown.

It's not the length of the show but it's how you use it? I dunno. The three of us are back and discussing Bioshock Infinite, Guacamelee, Puzzle Agent 2 and something Jon played.
As for news, Batman Arkham Origins is announced, more talk on Durango rumors and another studio shuts down.

This week Sean and Jon get more in depth with Luigi's Mansion Dark Moon as well as Sean's time with Bioshock Infinite. Nathan looks to Telltale and plays some Jurassic Park and Puzzle Agent.
We also discuss LucasArts being closed down and the loss of Star Wars 1313 along with Roger Ebert passing away.

Jon returns from PAX East to tell us about his time there, the games he played, and the fun he got up to. Sean talks about The Cave and Gears of War Judgement while Nathan discusses Papers, Please.
We also bring up the announcement of MGSV, Ducktales and the XCOM being ported to iOS.

Nathan is away sick but Sean grabs hold of Jon for a bit before he heads off to PAX East. Jon plays through all of Lords of Shadow this week as well as gives us an idea of what he'll be playing on his plane rides to and from Boston. Sean plays through all of Lego City Undercover and the new Citadel DLC for Mass Effect 3.
News has a huge list of release date, new game and platform announcements that we run through, the list of free EA games that Sim City owners have access to and a new Steam Early Access program.

When we're not discussing vikings we talk about how Tomb Raider is out while Nathan finishes Skyward Sword and tells us about Ridiculous Fishing.
News is short: we bring up more info on the SimCity issues this last week, Ron Gilbert leaving Double Fine and some tension between Xi3 and Valve.

Nathan gets way into Skyward Sword this week and Jon continues to work his way through Fire Emblem. Sean plays through Runner 2 and To the Moon.
In the news section we discuss a significant resignation from Respawn and the major issues surrounding the launch of SimCity.

This week Sean and Jon continue along with Fire Emblem. Jon also talks about Metal Gear Rising and Sean finishes up Assassin's Creed 3 and looks at Pudding Monsters. Nathan starts Skyward Sword and also plays through current iOS hit Year Walk.
As for the news, the Ouya gets some interesting developers on board, more Walking Dead coming from Telltale before season two and Microsoft is have a cool sale right now.

This week we rush through a bit (yet still end with an hour and a half long episode). Sean and Jon are continuing with Fire Emblem Awakening quite a bit. Sean also finished Ni No Kuni and The Room along with Nathan.
News is the big deal this week! Another Nintendo Direct happens showing off the "Year of Luigi", Hotline Miami is coming to the Vita, The Room is getting a sequel and that's about it....Just kidding! The scheduled Sony event shows off the all-new PlayStation 4!

This Valentine's episode finds Jon playing some more Sonic '06 and Fire Emblem: Awakening. Sean continues with Ni No Kuni and also tried out iOS games: Borderlands Legends and The Room. Nathan plays some WarioWare and the original Metroid.
News is scarce. We discuss more happenings around the Rayman Legends delay, another studio closes and some controversy is surrounding the new Aliens game.

Jon's here talking about Parasite Eve as well as some more Fire Emblem: Awakening with Sean. Sean also continues his trek through Ni No Kuni and Nathan finishes up Phantom Hourglass.
News on the Ouya and Durango surface as well as some details about the next Assassin's Creed and Rayman Legends being delayed.

This week Sean continues his way through the never ending Ni No Kuni, he's also playing Fire Emblem: Awakening along with Jon. Jon also continues to enjoy Sonic '06. Nathan discusses his time with the Global Game Jam and all the games he got to see be made.
News is scarce but we talk about a possible PS4 announcement, Junction Point closing and the release date reveal of GTA5.

This week Sean is playing through a couple visual novels, a couple iOS games and the big release this week: Ni No Kuni. Nathan plays some Skyrim. KRUNCH and The Cave and Jon is playing Sonic '06 for some reason. And liking it.
A bunch of news dropped this week. The final chapter of the THQ bankruptcy is revealed and Nintendo drops word on Windwaker HD, Fire Emblem X Shin Megami Tensei, Miiverse on phones and a whole lot more.

We're all back for a regular episode and have been playing a lot. Nathan plays new iOS hit Hundreds. Jon is checking out DmC as well as Wake Up Club with Sean. Sean also finishes up Gravity Rush and starts playing Analogue: A Hate Story.
There's a lot of news including information on the Steam box from CES, more updates on THQ, Dead Island Riptide's collector's edition, new Pokemon games announced and quite a bit more!

I'm pretty sure we didn't actually do much spoiler talking this time. Just tread lightly.
